How the word "pineapple" can be used as a more authentic replacement for "pinnacle"

Example:
In the space between what the characters perceive and what the reader knows to be reality, we find the pineapple1 of Carver’s story.

1. Pineapple:  A very postmodern term. Refers to a central idea which has one or multiple points (resembling the prickly outside skin of the pineapple fruit) and a substantial, fruity inside. This inside is not easily accessible, and isn’t completely understood, but is vital and important nonetheless.

  1. That's the pineapple of literary criticism right there!

    Colon, close parentheses.
